Barnabas

Good morning all! I haven't blogged in a while but this thought has been on my mind for while now. It started with my pastor when one Wednesday night I went to bible study and we were focusing on the ministry of encouragement. "Now Joseph, a Levite and native of Cyprus who was surnamed Barnabas by the apostles, which interpreted means Son of Encouragement". (Acts 4:36 AMP).
Barnabus, all though we don't here about him as often as Paul, was the apostle of encouragement. His life exemplified love, support and yes encouragement. He was so much an encourager that he and Paul had a disagreement over a young preacher named John Mark this event is found in Acts 15: 39-41. You see Paul didn't see John Mark as effective enough to be used in the kingdom but Barnbus saw potential. Long story short the two parted ways and Barnabas trained and encouraged John Mark to the point that Paul had to comment on what a great asset John Mark was to the Kingdom ( 2 Timothy 4:11). Wait a minute lets back track, Barnabus is solely responsible for supporting Paul's reconciliation with the said church he prosecuted. Hmmm... So my thoughts, yes we are very busy trying to "keep it together" withing our chosen  career paths,  pay bills and being envolved in our respected ministries but are we encouraging the young people who are closely behind or are we tearing them apart? If you are like me you might want to but simply don't have the time. Well let's try this  lets smile and give hugs when we can. Drop a word of love and prayer via Facebook or other social media outlets let's see if we can love someone back to a relationship with Chirst or affirm another. Let smile and save our young people. Until next time , whenever that is ... Keep healthy, be happy and remain blessed.
